Ingersoll Rand
Torn between two impact wrenches?
I’ve finally decided to get a 1in Impact Wrench (Ingersoll-rand) to use in my shop. Now I’ve narrowed the choices to two.
Ingersoll-Rand 217XP or Ingersoll-Rand 285-B
Both seem to have the same specs except that the 217XP looks more like 3/4″ gun and the latter, a mini-battering ram. i am just going to use it for tire removal of big trucks (32mm-41mm)

The Pistol Grip is hard on your wrists when hammering on nuts and bolts that big. I feel you have better control and more Comfort in the D- handle or “battering ram”. I use both, the pistol grip for my 1/2 impact and the D-handle for my 1in. impact. Although rather pricey Ingersoll is a good product and I’m sure you’ll be happy with whichever one you choose. GOOD LUCK!!!!
